Abstract

A procedure for the preparation of N-arylanthranilic acids and N-arylanthranilamides was developed. Lithium amide promoted coupling of anilines with 2-fluorobenzoic acids or 2- fluorobenzamides lead to the desired compounds in good yield. Both primary and N- substituted anilines were effective partners for the reaction.
