Abstract
We initially examined the deprotection of benzyl ether (Scheme [1] , entry 1a in Table [1] ; 500 mg, 2 mmol), 2 g of PEG (400) and 10% Pd/C (20 mg, 0.02 mmol) were stirred under hydrogen balloon for 6 hours. Anhydrous diethyl ether (5 mL) was added, the mixture stirred for five minutes and the reaction was allowed to settle for 5 minutes.
