Abstract
The benzimidazole moiety is an important heterocyclic nucleus which has been used extensively in medicinal chemistry. Current clinical examples include the antihistamine astemizole [1], the anti-ulcerative esomeprazole [2] and albendazole [3], which is used to treat parasitic diseases.
