Abstract

THE conversion of dibenzo [b, f] thiepins into phenanthrenes* suggested the possibility of an analogous conversion of dibenzo [b, fl-1: 4-thiazepines into phenanthridines. Dibenzo-[b, f]- 1: 4thiazepines have not been described hitherto, but representatives were readily obtained
