Abstract The addition of halofluorocarbenes such as: CF 2,: CClF or: CBrF, generated from the appropriate halofluoromethanes with bases, to butadiene or isoprene gives the corresponding l-vinyl substituted halofluorocyclopropanes in moderate to good yield.
