Abstract
In recent years, great advances have been made in the area of alcohol activation. A remarkable example is the acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling of primary alcohols (ADC) to give the corresponding esters, which is an environmentally friendly and atom-efficient alternative to the classic approach based on the esterification of carboxylic acids.
