Abstract

The reaction between Li [RR′ P (BH3)](where R= R′= Ph or R= tBu, R′= H) and 1 equiv of B (C6F5) 3 or Al (C6F5) 3 gives the salts [Li (Et2O) x][RR′ P {M (C6F5) 3}{BH3}]. In contrast, the attempted preparation of an analogous series with amide cores resulted in the preferential generation of Li [HB (C6F5) 3] and dimers or higher oligomers with the composition (RR′ NBH2) n.
