Abstract

A1C13-catalyzed reactions of N-sulfonylaziridines (C substituents given) la (no substituent), 4b (2-phenyl), 8b (2, 3-diphenyl), and lla-c (2, 2-dimethyl) with neat benzene, toluene, or anisole proceeded rapidly without heating. The expected N-sulfonyl (arylethy1) amines 2, 5, 9, and 12 were obtained in yields of 0-84%.
