Abstract

2: 4-Diacetylphloroglucinol III (R= Me) and 2: 4-dipropionylphloroglucinol III (R—Et) were obtained from phloroglucinol and acetic anhydride and propionic anhydride respec tively. Similarly, from pyrogallol 4: 6-diacetylpyrogallol IV (R= M e) and 4: 6-dipropionylpyrogallol IV (R= E t) were obtained.
