Abstract

Method A. 2-Benzylidene-4-[3-(dimethylamino) pro-pyl]-2H-l, l-benzoxazin-3 (4H)-one Hydrochloride (XI, 3). A stirred suspension of 10.3 g (0.044 mol) of I in 85 mL of Me2S0 was treated with 2.2 g (0.046 mol) of NaH (50% oil dispersion). Foaming occurred as the temperature gradually rose to 35" C.
