Abstract
Abstract Octamethyl-1, 2-disilacyclobutane is very air-sensitive. Its Si Si bond is readily cleaved by water, HCl, CF 3 CO 2 H, Cl 2, Br 2 and organolithium reagents. In the presence of (Ph 3 P) 2 PdCl 2, various acetylenes, conjugated dienes and allene insert into the Si Si bond of the disilacyclobutane. The stoichiometric reaction of the disilacyclobutane and (Ph 3 P) 2 PdCl 2 gave ClMe 2 SiCMe 2 CMe 2 SiMe 2 Cl and the 1, 1-bis (triphenylphosphine)- ...
