Abstract

Abstract The reaction of bis (trimethylsilyl) bromomethyllithium with the dimethyldihalo derivatives of silicon, germanium and tin in each case gave the respective 1, 1, 3, 3- tetramethyl-2, 2, 4, 4-tetrakis (trimethylsilyl)-1, 3-dimetallacyclobutane as the major product.
