Abstract

Discussion The formation of the esters VIa and VIb may be explained by the rearrangement of the first-formed peresters of cyclohexene hydroperoxide. The formation of cyclohexene-3- one may be explained as described by Criegee* for a-tetralone. The formation of cyclohexyl acetate and the influence of acetic anhydride on oxygen uptake are particularly noteworthy.
