Abstract
Recently, it has been reported that cupric acetate in pyridines) and cuprous chloride in pyridine2) were effective homogeneous reagents for the oxidative coupling of ethynyl compounds. Using these reagents, the authors synthesized a series of conjugated polyacetylenes from the corresponding diethynyl compounds.
