Abstract
Abstract The title compound 4 was synthesized, starting from 4-hydroxybiphenyl (6), in a search for organic ferromagnets. Electrochemical and chemical oxidation of 4 resulted in a dark green, insoluble solid with the properties of a monoradical rather than the expected trisradical 4a.
