Abstract
Summary: In the presence of triphenylphosphinepalla-dium complexes,(trialkylstanny1) dimethylsilane rapidly reacted at room temperature with terminal acetylenes to give 3, 4- disubstituted l-silacyclopenta-2, 4-dienes in moderate yield. The formation of 1- silacyclopentadiene derivatives is evidence for the generation of dimethylsilylene species from (trialkylstanny1) dimethylsilane.
