Abstract

Abstract: A kinetic study of the oxidation of p-methoxytoluene by the heteropolyion 12- tungstwobalt (III) ate (Co"'W120405-) in acetic acid/water with an acetate salt present has been performed. The rate of disappearance of the cobalt species is first order in [p- methoxytoluene] and [AcO-](at [AcO-] C 0.25 M) and inverse first order in the final concentration of CO~~ W,, O,~.
