Abstract
General Procedure for the Synthesis of (Ethoxycarbony1) hydrazones 8. The appropriate carbonyl compound (20.0 mmol) was added to a solution of ethoxycarbonylhydrazine (20.0 mmol) and glacial acetic acid (10 drops) in EtOH (20 mL). The mixture was stirred at rt for 24 h. The volatile materials were removed in vacuo and the crude product recrystallized from a suitable solvent.
