Abstract

Abstract: The synthesis of 1-fluorobicyclo [2.2. 1] heptane, 1-fluorobicyclo [3.1. l] heptane, l- fluorobicyclo [2. l. l] hexane, and 1-fluorobicyclo [1. ll] pentane is described. The I3C NMR spectra of these fluorides together with that of I-fluorotricyclo-[3.3. 0.02 s6] octane were examined in order to gauge, in particular, the importance of Fermi contact contributions to the one-bond" CF spin-spin coupling constants.
