Abstract

An environmentally benign microwave-assisted solvent-free self-condensation of carbonyl compounds was developed using catalytic amounts of triethylamine and lithium perchlorate. Changing the amount of lithium perchlorate helps in controlling the ratio of the single- condensation and double-condensation products.
