Abstract

Summary a-Nitrocycloalkanones substituted in a-position by a functionalized alkyl resid uc underwent ring opening to the corresponding chain derivatives by intermolecular nucleophilic attack; w-nitroalkanoates substituted in w-position were obtained (Scheme I).
