Abstract
Many nitro compounds are difficult to synthesize by direct nitration methods. However, some success has been achieved by direct oxidation of the corresponding amines using either peracids or hydrogen peroxidea2* We earlier reported'that dimethyldioxirane (1) oxidizes some primary amines to nitro compounds.
