Abstract
Reactions of 1-halocyclohexenes and 1-halo-4-methylcyclohexenes with potassium t- butoxide (t-BuOK) in dimethyl sulfoxide and tetrahydrofuran have been shown to take place by three competing dehydrohalogenation mechanisms.
