Abstract
The metal complex catalyzed reaction of an alkene with an R-diazo ester is an efficient method for the preparation of cyclopropane derivatives. 1 However, since diazo compounds are unstable intermediates, the use of this method for the preparation of cyclopropanecarboxylates is fraught with hazards on a large scale.
