Abstract
Both naturally occurring and unnatural α-arylalanines are frequent constituents of biological and pharmaceutical products. Several non-proteinogenic aminoacids as l-Dopa, l-homophenylalanine or d-2-naphthylalanine are already important pharmaceuticals, 1 while others such as d-phenylglycine, d-para-hydroxy-phenylglycine, and 2-thienyl-alanine are useful for the synthesis of certain drugs. 2 Many others serve as building blocks for modern drug discovery ...
