Abstract

Abstract Second-order rate constants have been measured spectrophotometrically for alkaline hydrolysis of Y-substituted phenyl phenyl carbonates (2a-j) and compared with the values reported previously for the corresponding reactions of Y-substituted phenyl benzoates (1a-j).
