Abstract

Abstract The tetrakis (tert-butylethynyl) derivatives of group IVA elements have been synthesized via the reaction of the tert-butylethynyllithium with the tetrachlorides or hexachloro salt in tetrahydrofuran at low temperatures. The expected products were obtained in excellent yields.
