Abstract

Abstract Reaction of rotenone (1a) and amorphigenin (2a) with hydroxylamine in alkaline medium affords a mixture of the isoximes 5 and 6, and the new 6a-NH 2 spiro derivatives 12a, b and 13a, b. The structures, stereochemistry, and the mechanisms of formation of these products are discussed.
