Abstract: The structure of heptaalkylbenzenium ions has been investigated in the gas phase with complementary techniques, ie, chemical ionization mass spectrometry, alkylation of hexaalkylbenzenes by radiolytically generated cations, and collisionally induced dissociation mass spectrometry.
