Abstract
Trisubstituted pseudoureas undergo a novel base-catalyzed transalkylation of the 0-alkyl group, but the reaction fails with di-and tetrasubstituted analogs. When both of the 3- tiubstituents of trisubstituted pseudoureas are secondary groups, the compounds do not transalkylate but are unstable in alkaline medium.
