Abstract
Nz03 (11). Their of 11, in chloroform, showed a broad absorption band at 3400-2300 cm-I and a band at 1570 cm-I characteristic of amine salts. A single carbonyl absorption was seen at 1675 cm-l. The nmr spectrum of 11 in deuteriochloroform showed a quartet at 6 4.04 (2 H, J= 7 Hz) and a triplet at 1.22 (3 H, J= 7 Hz) due to the ester methylene and methyl groups.
