Abstract
IV V= 4, the spectrum is normal, but abnornial when m= 3, n= 4, since in the latter comgound the benzene rings are pressed to within 2.84 A. at their points of attachment to the smaller methylene bridge3 That such effects are not limited to this particular type of structure is shown by the unusual spectrum of TI as coiiiparetf to open chain
