Abstract

A W‐shaped {Ga‐Dy‐Dy‐Dy‐Ga} coordination cluster, [Ga2Dy3(L)6(MeOH)5]·NO3·7MeOH (1) was synthesized, characterized and the magnetic properties investigated. The magnetic measurement indicates that the compound shows SMM behavior under zero dc field. The result indicates that combination of GaIII ions and DyIII ions (4f) is a successful strategy to assemble SMM clusters. The combination of these metal ions also offers prospects in dual functionality therapeutic for medical applications.
