Abstract
(11). Method B. Isovaleryl chloride (10.88 g, 20% excess) was added dropwise to a solution of nitrile 1 (14.85 g) in pyridine (75 ml) at 10". The mixture was stirred at room temperature (time given) and then poured into H, O. The aqueous layer was decanted from the oil, which was then washed with H, O and triturated with i-PrOH.
