Abstract

The ring polymers (CFSP)* and (CF3P);(mp 66.4 and-33", bp 115 and 190", respectively) are made quantitatively by the room temperature reaction of CF3P12 with Hg, or formed with higher CF3P polymers by pyrolysis of either P?(CF3) 4 or (CF3) sPH at 350". bp est. 104"). which mercury reduces to nCFBPC12. The pentamer (CF3P) a is largely converted to the stabler tetramer by heating. In a fluorocarbon solvent the tetramer reacts smooth1)-with O2 ...
