Abstract

Summary The reaction between phenol and benzoyldiphenylmethyl bromide gives p- bromophenol and diphenylacetophenone. The compounds described as phenylbenzoin monophenyl ether and benzopinacone monophenyl ether by Schuster2 are in reality diphenylacetophenone and a, a, PI 8-tetraphenylethanol.
