Abstract
An efficient method for allylic oxidation of cyclic and acyclic alkenes to the corresponding α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds in good yields was described using catalytic amounts of chromia-pillared montmorillonite and equimolar quantities of tert-butyl hydroperoxide.
