Abstract

We report a transition metal-free synthetic protocol for the cross-coupling reaction of aryl bromides and aryl iodides and diphenyl diselenide (Ph 2 Se 2) using CsOH· H 2 O as a base in DMSO at 110° C. Using this protocol, we show that a variety of diaryl selenides can be synthesized in moderate to good yields.
