Abstract

We are reporting the synthesis of a decapeptide having the sequence and configurations of amino acids believed to exist in gramicidin S. Consden, Gordon, Martin and Synge3 have determined the sequence of the five different amino acid residues of gramicidin S to be4:-Val- Om-Leu-Phe-Pro-(LLLDL).
