Abstract
This method is based on ow earlier developed procedure for the synthesis of terminal alkynes from 1, 2dibromoalkanes. 6 The best results are obtained when the products (2) are distillable. Powdered potassium hydroxide is the most effective base for the elimination. Sodium and calcium hydroxide (formed in siru from water (1. O equiv.) and CaO (1.
