Abstract

NH-,(VI), CsH5NH-, were each refluxed overnight with a two-fold excess of morpholine, benzylamine, and diethylamine, respectively, in toluene. As predicted, in each case carbon dioxide was evolved and the desired 2-aminoethanethiol was obtained upon distillation in the yield recorded in Table I.
