Abstract
A procedure has been elaborated for stereoselective deuterium substitution of one of the diastereotopic 5′-protons in 2′-deoxynucleotides. The synthetic scheme uses the reduction of the 5-oxosugar derivative with deuterated Alpine-Borane.
