Abstract

The product obtained when nitriminoimidazolidine is decomposed by aqueous alkali has been treated with acetic anhydride and with nitrous acid. One cannot distinguish between 3- 8-aminoethylnitrourea or 2-hydroxy-2-nitraminoimidazoli-dine as the structure of the nitrirninoimidazolidine hydration product on the basis of these reactions, and must conclude that either of such ring-chain isomers may be present depending upon the environment. ...
