Abstract
It has now been found that triethylammonium formate (TEAF), given by 5HCOOH· 2N (C 2 H 5) 3 causes the reductive fission of the bridged carbon bonds of 2, 2'-alkylidene and 2, 2'- arylidene-bisdimedones by heating. The reaction gave a number of productsby the secondary reactions succeeding to the reductive fission. Routes of these reactionsare also described.
