Abstract

Self-assembly of a C 3 v symmetric trisphenanthroline and linear bisterpyridines in the presence of Cu+ did not furnish the expected supramolecular nanoprisms in quantitative yield. With an accurately sized tripyridine as a stabilizing template, the nanoprism formed exclusively.
