Abstract
A number of 1.5-diphenyl-2, 3-pyrrolidinediones with substituents in the 4-position have been prepared and examined. Unlike the parent member of the series, these compounds appear to be extensively, if not fully, enolized and thus also may be characterized as 4- substituted-l, 5-diphenyl-A3-2-pyrrolinones.
