Abstract
Hydrogenation of polynuclear hydrocarbons over a palladium catalyst at low pressure and ambient temperature affords regiospecifically the corresponding K-region dihydroarenes, while analogous reactions over a platinum catalyst takle place regioselectively on terminal rings to provide the related tetrahydroarenes.
