Abstract

2, 3-Dimethylene-7-oxabicyclo [2.2. 1] heptane, available by reduction and dehydration of the furan-fumaroyl chloride Diels-Alder adduct, undergoes ready dibromocyclopropanation at one of its exocyclic double bonds.
