Abstract

A series of pteroylglutamic acid derivatives has been synthesized with halogen and methyl substituents in the benzene ring moiety. The nitration of pteroylglutamic acid and 4-ami~ opteroylglutamic acid has been investigated. A number of new nitrobenzoic and nitrobenzoylglutamic acid derivatives have been synthesized as intermediates and reference compounds.
