Abstract

bromobenzoylmesitylene, 0.3 g. of powdered copper and 75 ml. of 6 N potassium methoxide solution was heated under reflux for 48 hours. The product was a yellow, viscous oil which distilled at 120-122"(0.5 mm.) I The infrared spec-trum was identical with that of benzoylmesitylene. 9
